New from LAVAYSSIERE: COFREND certification in penetrant testing

Penetrant testing: a new LAVAYSSIERE certification to better meet your quality requirements

LAVAYSSIERE, part of the
MAVENTIS
group, does not limit industrial innovation to machines or equipment. It is also rooted in human skills. Today, we are pleased to announce that several of our employees are currently undergoing training or are already certified in “COFREND level 2” penetrant testing, an important area of expertise in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT).

Skill dedicated to quality

In industrial sectors where safety, reliability, and compliance are non-negotiable—such as aerospace, rail, nuclear, petrochemical, and precision engineering—penetrant testing is an essential method. It detects cracks, porosity, and weld defects in metal parts that are invisible to the naked eye.

It is this technical rigor and control that LAVAYSSIERE now offers as part of its integrated services. Internally, this reinforcement is part of a strong quality approach and our constant desire to offer you flawless casing.

Penetrant testing: the art of anticipating risks in boiler making

In concrete terms, penetrant testing (or PT) is a non-destructive testing process that involves applying a fluorescent or colored liquid to a clean surface. This liquid penetrates any defects by capillary action. After a penetration time, the developer is applied, making the defects visible under UV or white light.

Why is this strategic? Because it allows you to anticipate failures that could ultimately lead to significant costs or major technical incidents. It also demonstrates a strong commitment to your traceability, compliance, and reliability procedures.

Three committed employees, a sustainable approach

This skills development is no coincidence. It is the result of a shared vision within the MAVENTIS Group: to develop our employees in line with the future needs of our customers and industry standards.

“In a context where rigor is vital, we have chosen to integrate dye penetrant testing into our offering, training our teams to the same high standards that we apply to your projects.”
— LAVAYSSIERE Management

The penetrant testing certification process, which complies with COFREND standards, is demanding. It certifies a high level of technical competence and a thorough knowledge of materials, defects, analysis methods, and regulatory requirements.

Added value for our customers

The addition of penetrant testing to our offering meets three major objectives:

  1. Make your casings more reliable: reduce the risk of failure and guarantee the quality of the parts produced or inspected.
  2. Streamline your subcontracting: by integrating dye penetrant testing in-house, you benefit from a single point of contact, enhanced traceability, and optimized lead times.
  3. Building trust: because certification is not just a label, it is a commitment to quality for our customers, our teams, and the industry.

A forward-looking approach

This new skill does not come alone. It is part of a global dynamic of human and technical investment driven by LAVAYSSIERE:

  • Development of multi-technical services
  • Continuous skills development for our teams
  • Strategic partnerships with major players in industrial quality

We don’t just want to “do more.” We want to do better.

LAVAYSSIERE: your trusted industrial partner

For the LAVAYSSIERE teams, industrial performance is based on three pillars: technology, expertise, and trust. It is in this spirit that we enhance our services with dye penetrant inspection.

It’s not an option. It’s a promise kept.
